Bekkaev Aslan Nazirovich, originating from the Balkar Turks of Karachai Region in Kabardin Balkar in Caucasia, was detained by the Ukrainian officers at the time of entrance from Turkey to Ukraine. It is indicated in the news source http://kavkazpress.ru/archives/29967 that Bekkaev Aslan Nazirovich, born on 31.05.1971, was being sought by the Russian Federation on the grounds that he was involved in the armed struggle by Caucasia against Russia.
We were notified by his family that Bekkaev Aslan Nazirovich, holder of passport nr. III-BE 637868, would be at the risk of security of his life if and once returned toRussia. We hereby call for your urgent attempt to ensure that Bekkaev be not returned toRussiabut to stand trial inUkraineif he got involved in a crime in the latter, otherwise if he was not involved in any crime whatsoever, he then be returned toTurkey, the country where he came from.
