When will Caucasia - Chechen initiative be initiated?

War wearies of the war continuing in Chechnya and Northern Caucasia which is deliberatively tried to be forgotten are trying to live in hard conditions in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia.  However many Chechen citizens left place of birth taking refugee in European countries.

 War weary Chechen and Northern Caucasian families not more than 1500 are principally composed of widows, orphans and wounded veterans.   They are struggling to survive under primitive conditions in 4 refugee camps and those who could not be settled into camps are trying to survive residing 2-3 families in an apartment in various districts of Istanbul.

 Our these brothers and sisters may not benefit from rights recognized by Turkish Republic for refugees who are completely left limited aids of NGOs and communities.

 Chechnian refugees have European refugee status according to Geneva Convention signed by Turkey on 1951. Unlike other refugees, such refugees having European refugees status according to Geneva Convention has to be recognized asylum request and be benefited all rights provided by said convention.  These families who could have all rights such as sheltering, education, health and work permit by recognition of asylum request may not benefit any of such rights at the moment.

 We hope another government initiative for these families as mush as Armenians and Roman people who experience deporting and long arrests since their residence permits are not extended and we wish initiative are not limited to people who can vote for the elections. We wish Turkish Republic trying to join European Union would realize required improvements on immigration and nationality which is one of the basic human rights.

We Imkander as voice of war weary Caucasian families request from Government Urgently following problems to be solved.

1)       Refugee status of Chechnian and Caucasian families to be recognized as a condition of 1951 Geneva Convention.

2)        Improvement of conditions in Fenerbahce, Beykoz, Umraniye and Yalova refugee camps and these families to be settled into apartments which have more suitable conditions.

3)      Rent allowance to the families residing in tenants.

4)       URGENT Solution of electric supply problems in Yalova camp which has no electric supply for 2 years cut by municipality.

5)       Solution of education problems of immigrant children who are not accepted to schools since their residence permits are not extended or who cannot take school report and diploma even if they are accepted to school.

6)       These families to benefit from State Hospitals who have no social security.

7)       Work Permit,

8)       Citizenship rights to children born and to be born in this country.

9)        We want sick Luiza Uzueva and her children who are taken under custody without any legal reason in Kumkapı Foreigners branch of police department for 4 months with 4 little children to be freed urgently.
