Adem Çevik, President of Uzbek Union, undertook the management of the action conducted with the call of Immigrant Platform and support of the Islam organizations including Uzbek Union, Özgür-Der, İMKANDER and Garip-Der.
In his speech, Çevik said that Usen Şilmanov, and Yeldos Kunşugarov, Kazakh citizens, Abdullah Musaev, Uzbek citizen and Lakhdar Abboud (Ebu Salih), Algerian citizen and many other Muslim were under severe conditions in Kumkapı Foreigners Department and that it was an Islam and human liabilities to look after these people.
In his speech, Ridvan Kaya, Özgür-Der General President, said that Muslim immigrants cameTurkeyseeking for safety; however, the attempts in regard to deportation by disregarding their life safety could not be acceptable in regard to articles of brotherhood. Kaya requested the Government inTurkeyto observe immediate action on the immigration question.
In his speech delivered after Rıdvan Kaya, Murat Özel, our General President, said thatTurkeyis not just an Islam country, but the Anatolian peoples were consisted of those who were deported from different part of the region upon occupation and exile. Özer continued: “The Anatolian people have taken its final combination with the immigration of innumerable Muslim people like Circassians, Bosnians, Tatars and Chechens. The Muslims living on these lands are therefore not visitors, but they are primary components. We would like to see human treatment toward to our brothers.”
Luiza Uzueva, Chechen citizen, spouse of Lakhdar Abboud, spoke about the assault to their home. Pointing out the raid of the fully armed police forces early in the morning rendering her children in tears, Uzueve said that she was very upset to be treated like that.
Abdurrahman Koç, President of Garip-Der, criticized that the security department acted improperly against Muslims and hat breaking into Muslims’ house in the night by disregarding the privacy. Koç requested the police act in conformity with human and Islam principles. Alibey Yolyahşi, President of UzbekUniondelivered a speech and criticized the treatments against the immigrants.
The immigrants have crowded in front of the windows of Kumkapı Foreigners Department premises and shouted and prayed by saying “we wanted freedom, La ilahe İllallah."
