Istanbul will do the honor to a historic meeting, that passed in the history as “The Great Exile” and
in the 150th anniversary of Caucasian people exiled to the different parts of the world, particularly to Anatolia.
May 21, 1864 in Tsarist Russia took a decision within a few days the number of 2 million people mainly Circassians including Caucasian peoples to the ships filling over the Black Sea to Anatolia, a part of them driven to Balkans, in this exile half a million Muslims starved, thirsted and had lost their lives because of infectious diseases. The second exile of the Caucasian peoples took place in 1944, the Chechen-Ingush and Tatars were deported to Siberia and the Central Asian steppes.
In the conference organized by IMKANDER, the participation is expected to be intense.
About the conference, IMKANDER Chairman Murat Ozer by making a statement noted that the importance of the conference “This conference is a historic meeting. The struggle of Caucasian people who were exiled, are still going on. Today in 1994, with the Chechnya occupation due about 300 thousand refugees are still scattered to the many countries of the world. The aim of this conference we do not utter pain again. Eliminate the negative effects of occupation and exile to speak what can be done, to put on the table concrete proposals for solutions. This already bothers Russia. Russia cannot be disturbed by the memorial meeting. But concrete solutions, reveal events in Russia, arouse great discomfort. Russia puts tremendous response to the conference we organized in 2012, and we had been complained to the UN Security Council. We IMKANDER, are welcoming all independent devoted to the cause of the Caucasus, to the conference "he said.
They will be coming here from all around the world
2nd International Caucasus Conference will be held in Istanbul on the occasion of these exiles representatives of the Diaspora scattered in different regions of the world will be brought together.
To the conference Jordan, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Egypt, Germany and many other countries’ Caucasians will participate. Thus, on the occasion in both 1944 and 1864, exiled refugees will meet each other with the help of this meeting, and folks separated from each other by the people of Russia will give a message of unity.
Program of the Conference is intensive
At the conference, participant from Qatar Muhammad Kuddusi will make a speech about "Russian’s occupation and terror policy in Caucasia". Attending from Belgium, Danilbek Edilkhanov "Results of the Great Caucasia Exile and the Holocaust", attending from Jordan, Doc. Osama al-Shishani "Russian occupation in the Caucasus as a result of assimilation and cultural corruption", participating from Georgia, Gela Khamaladze, "New Trends in Imperialism in the Caucasus", and participating from Dagestan, Shamil Magemadov, “Human Rights Violations in the Caucasus” will present their papers with those titles.
Following the completion of the conference Chechen, Ingush, Circassians, Dagestani, Tatar, Kumuk, Karachay Caucasian people, belonging to different delegates as per the decision taken in 2012 by the Congress of People of the Caucasus will perform the first work meeting. Congress will address the basic issues of the North Caucasus, Georgia, Ukraine and will be Russian expansionism in Crimea.
There is no need to buy tickets to attend the conference. It will be open to everyone. Conference will be held in Istanbul Barcelo Eresin Topkapı Hotel in May, 21st and will start at 9 am.
