She is only 6 years old asthma patient and daughter of a wounded veteran forced to work in constructions.
We met Little Malika during our visit to Baku refugee camp in the last June. We promised to our best for her treatment and we would mention public of her situation however we could not find any sponsor to treat her in Turkey for the last 5 months.
We could visit Malika in Malika again in Baku we visited by reason of Sacrifice Organization in their home rental which is still under construction.
Little Malika did not forget us and we neither forget her. We presented a machine used for asthma patients and imported from abroad. But the machine works using quite expensive drugs. She was looking into our eyes crestfallenly taking breath deeply and difficult. It was quite difficult situation for us.
We asked whether she would like to be treated in Turkey through an interpreter. And she told us she would love to go stating that her friend Rumina went to Turkey.
Her Mother Mrs. Zarina told us that they have passport but no possibility to meet shelter and hospital expenses in Turkey dashing away her tears added "Malika had difficulty to live in this construction and dusty environment and Malika had difficulty to breathe especially in the mornings and evenings and she cried so much. Last year other refugee families collected some money by contribution of each and sent Malika to Moscow. Mrs. Zarina showed us health reports issued in Moscow and said that "Doctors told us Malika is required to sleep in a special environment with special pillows and blankets and urgent treatment must be started".
Her mother mentioned that current used drug caused some hormonal changes to malika and she is required to use another hormone-free version of the drug but they do not have possibilities to provide such drug.
Father Aslan lost all his family during first war. His previous wife, two sons, father and many of his close relatives have become shaheed in air bombing. And he lost his left foot too. Then he married to Mrs. Zarina and tried to hold on to life. They took refugee in Baku since they cannot live in Chechnya anymore. The family is staying in an incomplete construction together with their 3 children. Mr. Aslan told that they owe accumulated rental and he is sorry on his daughter's conditions and they even cannot find bread to eat sometimes. They applied to United Nations to go to Europe but Europe does not allow those families handicapped and cumbersome health problems and their application is drag out since such families cost more for the country they went. Mr. Aslan stating that he needs a better prosthesis and struggling for life in a village out of Baku together with his 3 children. This suffering father state that he afraid Malika would die due to breathing problems suddenly in the night. The family told us they expect supports of beneficent to treat little Malika in Turkey.
