Cruelty

Luiza Uzueva is a 30 years old mother of 4 children. Mrs. Luiza and her 4 children who came to Turkey at the beginning of this year with her 4 children are detained in Kumkapı Foreigners Branch of Police department for one month.

The family who applied for residence permit just before their visas ended was taken under custody in police raid to their home located in Istanbul Çarşamba on November 24th 2009.

When police raid to the home Mrs. Luiza was alone with her children and she was taken behind bars together with 4 children bringing Kumkapı Foreigners branch of police department convincing with the words “You will sign a document and then be free“.

She is under custody together with four children of who names Abdul (13), Sumaya (12), Sukhayla (11) and Salah (10) for one month.

İMKANDER‘s Chairperson Nuray Bezirgan who was informed by Mrs. Luiza's brother applied to İMKANDER tried to have information about the family from officials going Kumkapı Foreigners Branch of Police department.

Bezirgan mentioned that the problem was originated from Ankara and the family was enforced to migrate to another 3rd country. Bezirgan mentioned that family members were not involved any illegality and although they applied for residence permit, police teams raided their home and put them behind bars and enforced to migrate to another country stating that this was not fair and incompatible with international law and human rights.

  Bezirgan mentioned treatment of one of the small girls were interrupted for one month and children went through a psychological trauma and added "I am addressing to officials, such negative policies applied to those refugees applied for asylum considering this country as brother country wound deeply both Chechens and us. It must be ended to keep little children under suboptimal conditions in respect of physical and moral situations“.

Bezirgan added “Mrs. Luiza was manhandled by another foreigner woman during she stay in ward and her lip was fractured and children were affected by event“.

Previously a Chechen mother of whom residence permit was ended was taken under custody while her child on the stretcher when she brought her child to hospital after a traffic accident. She was waited on a chair for 4 days in a cell full of women charged simple offense and she was gathered her children after the subject was announced in public media at the end of initiatives of Imkander.
