During the seminar held in the center of the Association on January 26, 2012 and 19:00 hours, the cine-vision presentation was first conducted on the history of Islamic struggle in Caucasia.
Murat OZER, General President of IMKANDER, who first addressed to the audience, summarized the history and existing status of Islamic struggle and Jihad in Chechnya and Caucasia:
“There are innumerable nations in the geography so-called Caucasia, who speak different language. They were once idolaters. But they adopted Islam under the influences of Arabic merchants toward to 1600’s and 1800’s, almost a thousand years after birth of Islam.
Caucasian nations struggled against Russian occupation for 350 to 400 years since they adopted Islam permanently. The process of such struggle ever initiated, grown and dominated by Imam Shamil and Imam Mansur had been under progress since last 250 years.
The presence of the mujahids were also known, who were conducted the resistance also during communist era of Soviet Union, as opposed to the thought that they were disappeared. Right at the beginning the Caucasian people pursued the principle of Ummah by declining to fight for the nation and nationality and stayed loyal to the Ottoman Caliphate in their fight for the jihad.
Meanwhile, the Russia, in attempt to dominate on these nations, tried to instigate and promote the ethnic nationality between the nations, just because of to overcome these people to which she was unable to subjugate.
Nevertheless, Imam Shamil and Imam Mansur were able to establish the ideal of United Islamic Caucasia by combining Caucasian people under the same flag under the auspices of Ottoman Caliphate.
For the first time the Circassians, one of Caucasia people, had to immigrate to mainly Anatolia, Lebanon and Syria that were then included into Ottoman Empire during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878. Now there are about 4 millions Circassians living in Anatolia, Jordan and Syria, which were the descendant of those immigrants.
Northern Caucasian Emirate was established within Uzun Haci Emirate in 1918 and 1919, where the sharia was ruling. After that, Caucasia people suffered so much during Soviet Union. They were deported all four sides of the Soviet Unionin several occasions. Of Caucasia people, all Checnians and Ingushetians were deported to the Siberia and Kazakhstan. The immigrants were suffered during such deportation under severe conditions and many of them died.
After collapse of the communism in 1991 and dissolution of the Soviet Union, The Russian Federation legitimized many post-Soviet Union states established, including Georgia and Turkic Republics, however, Checnians sovereignty under Javhar Dudayev was refused.
This was mainly because, new presidents of such Turkic Republics legitimized by the central administration of Russia, since majority of them were the former members of the Russian army and intelligence service (KGB), who were secular and pro-Russian. On the other hand, Javhar Dudayev and his men were Islam and pursued a cause, i.e., foundation of Islamic Chechnya.
Besides, the Russian will be deprived of terrestrial connection to Anatolia and Middle East if such separation of Chechnya and Caucasia from Russia comes true.
Refusing the legitimacy of the Chechnian sovereignty, the Russia has a population of 250 millions. When they attacked to 1.0-million Chechnya, there were only 10.000 Chechnian Mujahids defending their countries against 500-thousand Russian Army. It was only possible for the Russian to occupy the Chechnya 2 years after when they martyrized Javhar Dudayev upon a treacherous trap organized.
After very long struggle of against the Russian’s attack, 250 thousands, almost one quarter of the Checnians were killed and 350 thousands were immigrated to foreign countries. The Russians had had hard times to win the battle even the unbalance forces of he parties. Even so they committed war crimes by killing the children and women.
The Chechnian jihad has been uninterrupted even if the Chechnya has been occupied by the Russian as a whole. The war is under progress without any moderation or retreat at all. Meanwhile, the jihad is under the leadership of Dokko Umarov. The ideal of CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT ISLAMIC CAUCASIA, encompassing 5 different provinces, i.e., Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardin - Balkar - Karachay and Nogay Steppes in addition to the Chechnya For the time being, all these regions are under the Russian’s occupation, however, the mujahids of all these regions continue their fight for the cause of Consolidated Independent Islamic Caucasia under the leadership of Dokko Umarov.
USA and other Western countries consider the mujahids as the terrorist, let alone supporting their cause, just because of Islamic context of the jihad. Republic of Turkey abstains from the Russia and therefore, no support is given on behalf of the jihad and mujahids.
The notion of Islamic management and jihad in the Caucasia dates back to the last years of the Soviet Union thanks to the effort of Ihvani Muslimin organizations active within Arab countries. Ihvani Muslimin organizations have commenced and organized the jihad against the Russian the Caucasia. The Caucasian mujahids and jihad amalgamation have had exclusive identity thanks to the influences of the mujahids taking part in the jihad in Turkey. The Chechnian nationalists and similar other constituents dominating the resistance have now disappeared upon Islamic and Ummah directions of the Ummah and today, all mujahids have equipped with the notion and objective of the Islamic amalgamation and objective.”
Omer BEZIRGAN, Vice President of IMKANDER then began to speak and summarized the organization and activities of the association as follows:
IMKANDER was founded it was 4 years ago, in order to give helping hand to the spouses and children of the mujahids, who had to immigrate to Turkey due to the jihad in the Chechnya and Caucasia, as well as the war veterans injured during the ware and unable to joint to the jihad again.
The state officials decline to issue certificate of the permanent settlement, let alone giving helping hands to the mujahids. Besides, the immigrants have been treated unjust and unacceptable treatments in the public offices and in particular in Foreigners Branch of Kumkapı, Istanbul.
Our association tries to help the mujahids in their formal proceedings, in addition to providing the means of accommodation, boarding and training facilities. To this end, our association has organized the accommodation and boarding of 150 families by renting altogether 98 houses. The study centers have been established for training needs of their children.
All these activities are funded by the association itself without any help or contribution from the public. We observe due diligence in conducting our activities together with the pecuniary and non-pecuniary contribution of our sensitive and charitable people.
For that reason, we call such sensitive and charitable people to give their helping hand to our CAUCASIAN IMMIGRANTS who had to come to our country due to the Caucasian jihad and be ANSAR.
