Omer Bezirgan, General Secretary of IMKAN-DER, visiting Chechen refugee camp in Azerbaijan said: "As martyr spouses can not pay their rents, 7-8 people live in single room houses. Russian propagandists tell that the invasion is over but if the war in Caucasus was over, would these people bear this disgrace?"
Fahrettin Dede, our vorrespondent, listened impressions of Omer Bezirgan in Chechen camps. Imran Abdulazimov, Chechen Commander in Turkey and Deputy President and Founder of IMKAN-DER was there too.
In the previous days, Omer Bezirgan, General Secretary of Defend Human and Brothership Association IMKAN-DER, who made a 2 days long visit to the region in order to observe the conditions of Chechen refugees in Azerbaijan, told his impressions to Vakit.
.
UNIFICATION STRUGGLE
Bezirgan, observing the harassments of nearly 1500 Chechen refugees living in Azerbaijan under UN protection on the spot, said "I had the opportunity to talk to hundreds of Chechen refugees during the 2 days in Baku. As living in Azerbaijan is very expensive, the refugees are under miserable conditions. Rents at where they stay are very high. I have seen some people even staying in buildings under construction due to this reason. Those who stay in houses with 7-8 people, 2-3 families together, have to share a single room. As martyr spouses can not pay their rents, they choose this method. Russian propagandists are telling that the invasion is over but if the war in Caucasus was over, would these people bear this disgrace?"
CONDITIONS ARE NOT GOOD IN CAUCASUS
Criticizing Kadyrov's Russian sided politics, Bezirgan said "Russia is allocating serious budgets to Russian sided Ramazan Kadyrov government in order to arrest Chechen Mujahideen. Some media organs in Turkey are advocating Russian propaganda. Some Turkish journalists are claiming that Ramazan Kadyrov is doing whatever he can in order to live an Islamic life, having mosques opened, and performing Quadiriyyah invocations. However, there are images showing that he is not living Islamic life at all. Can someone who dances with women at birthday parties with girls and women, someone who drinks vodka with takbir have any Islamic sensitivity? Kadyrov is a person torturing spouses left back by martyr Mujahideen" and added: "Turkish journalist is claiming that everything in Chechnya has settled down and that war is over are trying to blow Kadyrov wind. But houses of the relatives of the Mujahideen are being burned; they are being arrested and taken away to the mountains to be used as live shields."
Chechen's fear of extradition
Bezirgan, General Secretary of IMKAN-DER, stating that they have prepared a report about the harassment of refugees who are in Azerbaijan and under protection of UN, declared that: "Russia's policy in the region is a very serious intimidation policy. President of Azerbaijan Haydar Aliyev met Russian president Medvedev in the previous days. A lot of strategists are saying that expelling Chechen refugees from Azerbaijan who are under UN protection was discussed in this meeting. When Egypt government handed over relatives of the Mujahideen to Russia, Chechens in Azerbaijan started to fear of extradition." Bezirgan said: "Martyr spouses who can not pay their rents can come up against unethical proposals. Azerbaijani authorities do not provide any sort of social security."
There are 1500 refugees in Turkey:
There are about 1500 Chechens in Turkey. They live in camps in Yalova, Beykoz, Umraniye and Fenerbahce and some of them are living in houses rented at districts like Zeytinburnu, Fatih, Basaksehir, struggling to survive with the support of our grateful people and some NGOs. They do not have residence or work permits. But conditions of refugees in Azerbaijan are very miserable. While they have to pay 300 $ per month for the ruins they live in, the 30 $ monthly payment they receive from UN does not suffice and they are thrown out of the houses they live in and 15-20 people have to live together in two room houses.
Caring for orphans: Fatima Konueva's son and son in law are martyrs. Konueva, cares for her daughter and her 2 orphans after her son in law became martyr. She has 1 orphan from her. Her bride left them. They pay 400 dollars for rent. Their house is fairly old. She wants her 12 years old orphan left over from her son to be trained in Islamic discipline.
Lung cancer
Sayd Hasan Ahmadov is a veteran who completely lost his left foot in Chechnya ... His cousin is in Chechnya. He is living in a worn house with his daughter and wife. He does not want prosthesis. He has acute lung cancer. He has been attending chemotherapy cure for 1 year. His doctors said that his condition will be considerably worse 3 months later. He started to lose weight. He can not buy drugs. He does not have social security. His condition is bad and he is asking for pain reliever drugs to be sent immediately in order to relieve his pains. Ahmadov says "3 months later there will be no need for me to buy any drugs".
